Residents of Halwill reacted angrily today to news that Devonshire Homes were jeopardising the exciting plans for the playing fields. Devonshire Homes are trying to renege on their agreement to pay money to the community as part of their planning consent to build the Chilla Junction development. This money is an important part of the funding for the new recreation facilities. Devonshire Homes are upset that they haven’t managed to make as much profit from the site as they would like so they would like residents of Halwill to not ask for the money to help with the burden on education and recreation their site will create. Apparently this is Donald Trump’s fault amongst other things!

May be an image of text that says "0 Donald Trump's victory in November's presidential election is having a profound impact on the US and the global economy. With the Republican Party not only securing control of the White House, but also the Senate and the House of Representatives (a so-called 'Red Sweep'), President Trump has fewer obstacles in implementing his policy proposals outlined during the in global markets. election campaign and has wasted no time in implementing tariffs which are causing turmoil"

Here is a picture of a sad child who has just learned his happy future has been sold out to corporate greed.

“Unacceptable”, said one local resident

“Extremely unprofessional!!”, said another with 2 exclamation marks!!!

“absolute disgrace”; “what’s a MUGA?”; “Developers are all take take take, it’s utterly shameful! I’ve lived here 50 plus years and nothing good has come from all the extra housing developments in Halwill” and  “Terrible” are some of the comment from angry residents.

If you think this is an outrage then contact your District Councillors or Planning support at Torridge District Council. If you think this is not an outrage then I can only assume you have shares in Devonshire Homes.
