Halwill Parish Council is proposing to dispose of some of the land it holds on behalf of the public. This is not something we do lightly but it is something we do from time to time. Disposal in this case means making the land unavailable for general public use. Land at the bottom of the old railway embankment will be offered to neighbours to extend their gardens, some of these will have a easement to allow the Baptist Church to discharge water into a pipe. This land is of little use to the public but may be of use to householders. The land will be sold for a consideration.

There are 3 disposals being considered:

  • The granting of an easement to the Baptist church to allow them to install a drainage pipe for rainwater through parish council land
  • The sale of a narrow strip of land to householders in Station road to allow them to extend their gardens
  • Potentially allowing the football club to site a social club on parish council land along with changing rooms and a Multi Use Games Area

Halwill Parish Council invite anyone with views on these matters to contact the parish council. This can be done via email (clerk@halwillparishcouncil.gov.uk) or by letter. All comments must be received by August 12
